Wisdom House To Offer Live Stream Of Environmental Summit

Wisdom House Retreat and Conference Center in Litchfield, in cooperation with The Center at Mariandale in Ossining, New York, will offer a live Zoom con- nection to the St. Catherine of Si- ena Environmental Summit 2023 on Saturday, April 29. The Sum- mit will feature Sister Ilia Delio, OSF, and the theme of “Heal- ing, Wholeness, and the Power of Love: Why Teilhard’s Vision Matters”.
The Summit will be offered via Zoom at Wisdom House from 10 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and in per- son from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at The Center at Mariandale in Ossining in Westchester County, New York.
A Franciscan sister, Sister Ilia Delio, OSF, holds the Josephine C. Connelly Endowed Chair in Theology at Villanova Univer- sity. A native of Newark, NJ, she earned doctorate degrees in
pharmacology from Rutgers University School of Healthcare and Biomed- ical Sciences and in Historical Theology from Fordham University.

Sister Ilia Delio, OSF, is the recipient of a Templeton Course in Science and Religion award and the author of 22 books, in- cluding The Unbearable Whole- ness of Being, Care for Creation (Catholic Press Book Award 2010), The Emergent Christ (Catholic Press Book Award 2013) and Making All Things New: Catholicity, Cosmology, and Consciousness, nominat- ed for the 2018 Grawemeyer Award. Her books have been translated into Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Polish, and Ger- man.
In 2015, she became general editor of a new book series by Orbis Books called “Catholici- ty in an Evolving Universe” of which there are currently ten books scheduled for publica- tion. She lectures nationally and internationally on topics includ-
ing evolution, artificial intelli- gence, consciousness, culture, and religion.
Wisdom House is an inter- faith retreat and conference cen- ter presenting programs in spir- ituality, wellness, the arts, and ecology, and offering hospitali- ty to academic, civic, nonprof- it, and business organizations. “We are committed to sustain- ability, justice, and welcoming people of all backgrounds and beliefs,” stated executive direc- tor Deborah Kelly.
“We are especially interested in environmental sustainabili- ty programs,” explained Kelly, “and our connection with The Center at Mariandale has been many decades long. Additional- ly, we are delightfully aware that programs presented by Sister Ilia Delio, OSF tend to attract stand- ing-room capacity.”
