Women’s Business Council to Honor Probate Judge with Heart of Woman Award

The Greater Danbury Chamber of Commerce’s Women’s Business Council has announced
that the 2022 Heart of Woman Award winner is the Honorable Judge Dianne Yamin.
Judge Yamin received the honor in recognition of her service to the Greater Danbury legal and business community and her service through local volunteer organizations.

The award dinner is scheduled for Thursday, November 3, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Amber
Room Colonnade.

Yamin has served as Probate Judge for the Judicial District of Danbury since 1990. In addition, she is an attorney with Yamin & Yamin, LLP, past president of the Connecticut Probate Assembly, former chairperson (and first female chair) of the Board of Directors of the Greater Danbury Chamber of Commerce, and former President Judge of the Connecticut Probate Assembly.

In November, Judge Yamin will be elected president of the National College of Probate
Judges. This work will include promoting “probate best practices from all over the country” in Connecticut. The National College of Probate Judges produces publications and partners with other national organizations.

Judge Yamin’s dedication to the local community will continue as she serves in the following roles:
* Co-Chair of the Peter and Carmen Lucia Buck Foundation’s Danbury Age Well Council;
* Immediate Past President of the Lion’s Club of Danbury;
* Corporator with the Savings Bank of Danbury;* Member of the Dean’s Advisory Board of the Ancell School of Business;
* Member of the Finance Council of The Eparchy of St. Maron;
* Co-Advisor of the Maronite Youth Organization of St. Anthony’s Maronite Catholic Church.

The Women’s Business Council has presented the Heart of Women award since 2011. The mission of the Women’s Business Council is to develop and enhance the personal and professional growth of women in the Greater Danbury community and to inspire and celebrate women through a network of guidance, education, support, and leadership.
